The genetics research team, led by Dr Sanjay Prasad and Dr James Ware, aims to better understand the genetics of heart disease to help develop improved strategies for preventing, treating and predicting outcomes in people with heart conditions and their relatives.

This research contributes to the global gathering of genetic information to develop an online genetics information database.
It will enable our researchers to identify new genes and genetic mechanisms responsible for heart conditions such as cardiomyopathy, improving diagnosis and treatment for people with inherited heart conditions and their relatives.
