- distribution
- export
- Human Tissue Act 2004 for the storage of organs, tissues or cells for use for a scheduled purpose, including research.

Heart valve bank Human Tissue Authority inspection
The heart valve bank has been inspected five times by the Human Tissue Authority (HTA), in accordance with the legal requirement to inspect licenses under the Human Tissue (Quality and Safety for Human Application) Regulations 2007 every two years. The inspection process is designed to assess suitability of the:
- designated individual
- Licence holder
- premises and practices in relation to the licensed activities
