Biography
Dr Alexandra Rice studied at the University of Cambridge, and obtained her medical degree in 1994, followed by membership of the Royal College of Pathologists in 2002.
She has worked as a consultant since 2003, first at St Mary's Hospital, London with a specialist interest in lung and lymphoreticular pathology and was appointed to Royal Brompton Hospital in 2009.
Areas of expertise
Dr Rice is a thoracic pathologist with over 15 years' experience in surgical pathology. Her specialist interests include:
- neoplastic and non-neoplastic lung disease
- cardiothoracic transplantation
- lung cancer
- heart and lung transplantation pathology.
Teaching
Dr Rice regularly lectures on all aspects of lung pathology on undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
Publications
Dr Alexandra Rice has co-authored a variety of papers, review articles and chapters on lung pathology.
