Structured Training and Education for Pharmacists (STEP)

The Structured Training and Education for Pharmacists (STEP) post registration foundation programme is designed to enhance the role of registered hospital pharmacists. The programme offers a wide variety of experiences and provides you with a platform to expand your current knowledge and develop your skills to become an expert in medicines.

The STEP programme is an experiential foundation training programme for recently qualified pharmacists working in the hospitals within King’s Health Partners. The partners in this programme are King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, including Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals, along with Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust as an affiliate. The programme is set over three years and you will have the opportunity to gain experience within the four partner Trusts.

For further information on the programme, you can download the STEP Programme Handbook here, or contact Elizabeth Rawlence, STEP Programme co-ordinator: elizabeth.rawlence@nhs.net
