People who have been identified by the NHS as being at higher risk of severe illness if they contract coronavirus (COVID-19) will be sent a letter asking them to stay at home for 12 weeks in order to protect themselves. A healthcare professional who works on our paediatric respiratory team at Royal Brompton Hospital has tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19). We would like to reassure our patients and their families that anybody who came into close contact with this individual is being informed and will be offered advice. No current inpatients are affected.
