A number of Trust consultants in cardiovascular medicine at Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals have been chosen for leading roles at professional external organisations. Five members of staff have been appointed to roles at the European Society of Cardiology. The Trust also has new representation on the NHS North-London Operational Delivery Network and the Society for Cardiothoracic Surgery. Read more

Research published in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine has shown clinical observations, imaging tests and point-of-care blood tests are all important indicators of pulmonary angiopathy (blood vessel disease) in COVID-19 and could help determine disease severity.
