A new state-of-the-art research facility at Harefield Hospital, led by a team of research nurses, was opened on Monday 14 November 2022 at a ceremony by the pioneer of cardiothoracic surgery, Professor Sir Magdi Yacoub.

Lung check services have been launched for current and former smokers across four boroughs in west London and southeast London, both involving Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. Royal Brompton Hospital is a lead partner of the west London service. Read more

Inclusive Brixton bookshop, Round Table Books, is at our hospitals for Black History Month. The bookshop features books written by diverse and underrepresented authors, and this October Toneé Mykoo - bookseller at Round Table Books - has brought the social enterprise to our five hospital sites - and in doing so, is inspiring conversations about Black literature. More than 70 school students attended Harefield Hospital’s annual ‘Your Heart Hospital’ event that aims to educate students about the importance of cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR), offer an insight into the wide range of careers in cardiovascular healthcare, and enhance understanding about what takes place in a specialist heart hospital like Harefield Hospital.
