Biography

Dr Rajdeep Khattar qualified at the University of Southampton Medical School, before his specialist training in cardiology in North West London. 

This included three years of clinical research in the fields of:

  • cardiovascular imaging
  • ischaemic heart disease
  • hypertension
  • heart failure.

This was followed by comprehensive training in both advanced echocardiography and percutaneous coronary intervention. 

He joined Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust from Manchester Heart Centre and is also an honorary clinical senior lecturer at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London.

Dr Rajdeep Khattar has more than 10 years' experience as a consultant cardiologist.  

Areas of expertise      

Dr Khattar has more than 10 years' experience as a consultant cardiologist and has extensive experience in clinical cardiology, particularly the use of advanced echocardiography techniques to diagnose and manage patients with suspected cardiac conditions. 

This includes: 

  • stress and contrast echocardiography
  • transoesophageal echocardiography
  • 3D echocardiography
  • coronary angioplasty
  • stent implantation.

Publications

Dr Khattar has published numerous peer-reviewed papers on a broad range of cardiological conditions and has active research interests in coronary heart disease, heart failure, cardiovascular risk assessment and valve disease.
