Biography
Dr Jonathan Clague is an interventional cardiologist at Royal Brompton Hospital, specialising in electrophysiology and invasive cardiology.
Areas of expertise
Dr Clague works is part of the cardiology team, treating conditions such as angina, heart failure and cardiac arrhythmia. His areas of clinical expertise include ablation, coronary angioplasty, cardiac rhythm management (including complex pacing), implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs) and cardiac resynchronisation therapy (CRT).
He also has an academic interest in stem cell therapy in advanced cardiac failure.
Experience
Dr Clague qualified at St Mary's Hospital Medical School, London, in 1985. After undertaking senior house officer (SHO) posts, he began his cardiology training at Barts and the London NHS Trust. He then completed two years cellular pathology research at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
He worked as a senior registrar at both Royal Brompton and St George's hospitals before his appointment as a consultant at Royal Brompton in 1997.
