Biography

Dr Jan Till trained at St Bartholomew's Hospital, London before going into paediatrics. She then trained in general paediatrics at Queen Elizabeth Hospital for Children, Hackney. After this, she went to neonates at St George's Hospital, London.

She then came to Royal Brompton Hospital to train in paediatric cardiology.

Areas of expertise

Dr Till's areas of expertise include:

  • childhood arrhythmia
  • channelopathies
  • inherited cardiac diseases (ICD)
  • cardiomyopathies
  • catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia

Dr Till runs a clinical service for families with channelopathies. Her interest in adult congenital arrhythmia led her to start an ICD programme. This programme means that all family members can be seen under one roof, as all aspects of ICD are covered.

She is also researching into catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia.

In the last two years we have teamed up with St Mary's to form the regional ICD service and I am the paediatric cardiology representative in the St Georges ICD service. We have always had an interest in devices in children and continue to work in this area; most recently looking at remote and subcutaneous defibrillators.

Teaching

Dr Till has spoken at many specialist conferences across the world. She presented at the International Scientific Conference in Dubrovnik on 'The role of defibrillators in channelopathies'.
