July – October: second phase of demolition and milestone reached

The partial demolition of the hospital's Chelsea wing will eventually link the imaging centre to the Sydney wing of the hospital. Meanwhile, the main concrete frame has risen out of the ground, paving the way for the installation of the topmost portion of the centre – called ‘topping out’ – a significant milestone that marks the completion of the structural phase of a project. Concrete floor slabs are also laid.
