Mr Darryl Shore is a consultant cardiac surgeon based at Royal Brompton Hospital, as well as a Professor of practice in Congenital cardiac surgery at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London.

Biography

Mr Darryl Shore was a consultant at Southampton General Hospital before joining the Trust as a consultant cardiac surgeon in 1987. At the Trust, he has held a variety of senior management positions and is currently acting director of the heart division at Royal Brompton.

In 2013, Mr Shore became an adjunct professor at the National Heart and Lung Institute, recognising his contribution and close working relationship with Imperial College.

Mr Darryl Shore is consultant cardiac surgeon at the Trust. He has international recognition as an expert in the surgical management of adults with congenital heart disease.

Areas of expertise

Mr Shore has experience in many areas of cardiothoracic surgery. His expertise includes surgery for: 

  • coronary artery disease
  • aortic and aortic valve disease
  • congenital heart disease.

Teaching

Mr Darryl Shore is the author, or co-author, on many papers on congenital heart surgery. He has delivered many lectures on this subject worldwide.
