Training

Tissue governance training sessions are open to any person involved in research involving human tissue at any of the licensed sites.

Research tissue governance training (one hour)

This course is essential training for any Trust or Imperial College London staff member* who is involved in research using human organs, tissues, cells or cellular material. The training session is designed to support researchers in understanding the requirements for obtaining, storing and using human tissue in research. A certificate of training will also be provided following the session.

Each training session will cover:

  • what the research tissue governance framework is and who needs to comply with it
  • what is classified as “relevant material”
  • what research groups and individuals should do to ensure they are complying with requirements
  • when a material transfer agreement is required
  • what resources are available to support research staff and where to go for more information
  • open Q&A session.

  • Tuesday, 14 March 2017 (11am to 12:00pm)
  • Tuesday, 20 June 2017 (11am to 12:00pm)
  • Friday, 15 September 2017 (2pm to 3pm)
  • Thursday, 14 December 2017 (2pm to 3pm)

All sessions are held in:

Respiratory CRF
1st Floor Fulham Wing
Royal Brompton Hospital.

Places are limited so please book early to secure your spot.

*All staff = Trust and non-Trust employees who are storing human tissue, cells et. for research at Royal Brompton Hospital, Harefield Hospital, Heart Science Centre, Emmanuel Kaye Building, Guy Scadding Building, and/or Sir Alexander Fleming Building.
