Applying to work for us

Application process

  1. Apply to the UK Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). For more information about the application process, visit: https://www.nmc.org.uk/registration/
  2. Complete the Online Test of Competence through the NMC, if applicable. Information about the test can be found here: https://www.nmc.org.uk/registration/joining-the-register/toc/
  3. Apply online via the Capital Nurse Programme website. Our hospitals are part of a consortium of Trusts that use Capital Nurse to recruit for nursing positions. Applications are processed through approved agencies.
  4. If you meet our requirements and are called for a formal interview, we will arrange a video call in which we will learn more about you and your nursing experience.
  5. If you are successful, you will be offered a position with us at the Trust and will be able to travel to the UK to study for your OSCE (once all pre-employment and immigration requirements are complete).

Important

  1. Nurses that have undertaken their nurse training in a country where English is not their first language must complete an English language test (International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or Occupational English Test (OET)). Note: if you can produce evidence of registration and recent practice of at least 1 year in a country where English is widely spoken, or if you have undertaken your nurse training in a country where English is the first or native language, you do not have to take the IELTS or OET test.
  2. Our internal review process may take up to 3 months before you receive your arrival and start date.
  3. Visa requirements are an essential part of international nurses coming to work for us. If you currently hold a Visa, it is important to let us know. If you don’t hold a Visa, we will advise which Visa is appropriate for you and will allow us to sponsor you as you work.
