NIHR Translational Research Partnerships
NIHR Translational Research Partnerships (TRPs) were established to bring together world-class investigators in the UK’s leading academic and NHS centres to support collaboration with the life sciences industry in early and exploratory development of new drugs and other interventions.
The Trust is a member of the NIHR Translational Research Partnerships (TRP) in inflammatory respiratory disease and along with our academic partner Imperial College and Imperial College Health Care Trust comprise one of nine centres involved in the TRP. These nine centres of research excellence were selected to work together based on their proven ability to deliver in experimental medicine and translational research. NIHR TRPs offer industry partners the chance to work with leading academic and NHS organisations, sharing risk and reward through genuine collaboration. As members of a TRP, each centre has committed to work with industry through NIHR Office for Clinical Research Infrastruture – their consistent, single point of contact.
The Trust has a number of clinical partnerships with neighbouring NHS and partner primary care NHS organisations to facilitate and enhance research activities. In particular, the Trust has close working relations with Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Royal Marsden Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
