The dedicated paediatric outpatient department is a relaxed and friendly child-centred environment. Consultant-led clinics in paediatric cardiology and familial hypercholesterolaemia (FH) are held within the department. There are also dietitian-led clinics focusing on feeding and nutrition. A dietitian also attends the FH clinics.
If any of the children need to be admitted to hospital for treatment this admission will occur at Royal Brompton Hospital where all the paediatric inpatient care is given.
Well-established clinical governance and audit programmes are in place to ensure the delivery of a high standard of medical and nursing care and patient satisfaction.
The paediatric department is a tertiary referral centre for children with cardiac disease. Referrals are mainly accepted from district general and teaching hospitals in north west London and Hertsfordshire, although children from abroad can also be referred and treated privately at the hospital.
For private referrals, please contact PA to Dr Rodney Franklin, Annette Waye.
For all other enquiries, please contact Annabel Bryant, children's cardiac care nurse.
